I’ve been involved in small businesses and not-for-profit organizations since I served on the board of the local conservation club while still in collage. Shortly after, I opened my first photography studio. I have experience in business set-up and administration, youth programs both as a member (I never made Eagle Scout, but I was active for many, many years) and as an administrator, not-for-profit paperwork and general business accounting, and many other aspects of starting up and running an organization.

Like most derby players, I started skating when I was about 8 years old at the local rink. After (eventually) mastering the rental quads, I went on to play roller hockey in my driveway and street, eventually buying my own pair of blades. I gave up skating when I was 15 – until Sam and I discovered roller derby in February of 2010. Since getting back on wheels, I’ve served as the Head Ref for the Dark Side of the Bout, the local organization of referees and non-skating officials. I want to get involved as a player too – just as soon as men’s derby comes to Las Cruces!

General Manager

I opened my first photography studio in 1997, and have owned and operated several small businesses in the years since. Although I skated at the occasional birthday party when I was younger, it wasn’t until I discovered roller derby in February 2010 that I got serious about roller skating. I have retired from play with Crossroads City Derby; pivot is my preferred position. In addition to coaching with Minor Threat, I skate with fresh meat as much as possible – I love working with people who want to learn, and who love skating as much as I do.
