Skaters who are still learning the game or who do not want to risk the hard knocks of full contact play play using a modified WFTDA rule set where all blocking must be done positionally – you can get in another skater’s way, but you cannot hit or push another skater. This is a fun way to learn roller derby, helping skaters to learn gameplay, rules, and strategy without worrying about taking hits. All Minor Threat skaters are expected to master positional play before learning to play contact roller derby.
